Mary Ann Morgan, MA, NCC, LCPC, LPC, LMHC

A founding member of McLean Christian Counseling, Mary Ann has been practicing since 2005, ten years of which were at the McLean Bible Church Counseling Center. Prior to that, she worked for Life Christian Counseling.
Mary Ann interned at Ft. Belvoir Family Life Center, where she counseled military personnel and their families. Prior to that, she completed her practicum at Gospel Rescue Mission, a residency program in Washington D.C. for males with addictions. She also spent three years as a volunteer spiritual mentor to women in the addictions unit of the Arlington County Jail.
Mary Ann holds counseling licenses in Virginia, Maryland, and Florida, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).
Using an approach to counseling that integrates sound clinical practice with a biblical worldview, Mary Ann acknowledges God as the principal Healer in the counseling process. With respect to therapies employed in session, Mary Ann integrates them to suit a client’s needs. A listing of those therapeutic approaches is included below.
Mary Ann counsels adults, couples and teens, working with issues such as depression, trauma, anxiety, grief, anger, unforgiveness, abuse (sexual and other), family issues, relationship and/or attachment deficits, personal and spiritual identity concerns, co-dependency, transitions and life coaching.
Apart from counseling, Mary Ann has over 25 years’ experience in other disciplines, which include business and academics. She earned her MBA from the University of Southern Illinois and graduated cum laude from Queens College (CUNY) in Secondary Education and Romance Languages. Mary Ann holds a Masters in Community Counseling from Regent University, where she graduated top of her class earning her the Award of Excellence for Outstanding Graduate of the School of Counseling and Psychology.
Mary Ann is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), the Christian Association for Psychological Studies (CAPS), the Virginia Counseling Association (VCA), NBCC-the National Board of Certified Counselors and EMDRIA, the international association for certified EMDR practitioners. She is also on the New Life team of counselors for which she facilitates marriage groups and “Healing is a Choice” groups.
